His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
10 June 1921 – 9 April 2021

Throughout the Duke of Edinburgh’s lifetime his contribution and commitment to equestrian sport was invaluable in helping shape many of the disciplines we know and love today.

The Duke held the position of President of the FEI for 22 years (1964 to 1986), he was an active and excellent polo player and he helped develop the sport of carriage driving through his love and commitment to this discipline. He was also influential in the introduction of the Pony Club Mounted Games and its trophy in 1957, The Prince Philip Cup. A true equestrian sportsman who was hugely respected and will be missed by us all.
