We are ready to celebrate our 40th Anniversary next week!

A feast of entertainment is guaranteed for the Magic Millions Festival of British Eventing at HRH The Princess Royal’s Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire, on the weekend of August 4-6.

The climax of the weekend is the Magic Millions British Open, which decides the national champion of eventing. The Championship has over 30 of the best riders entered including Olympic gold medallists Tom McEwen and Oliver Townend who are both bringing their top horses. Riders of the calibre of world number one Tim Price from New Zealand, last year’s winner on Vitali, plus Zara Tindall, Pippa Funnell and Piggy March will also be in action in this always thrilling competition which offers spectacular cross-country viewing in the park bowl.

This prestigious competition, started in 1983, celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Some of the greatest names in eventing history have triumphed here, including the Olympic gold medal combinations of Mark Todd and Charisma, Andrew Hoy and Darien Powers and Blyth Tait with Ready Teddy, not to mention leading British riders Mary King, Pippa Funnell and William Fox-Pitt.

The title holders will also be decided for the Evelyn Partners British Intermediate Championships and the Dodson & Horrell British Novice Championships, important competitions that have often highlighted stars of the future. The TopSpec Challenge for The Corinthian Cup, a National Restricted Novice Championship will see over 30 amateur competitors battle it out for this coveted title. Over 350 horses will be competing during the weekend, including in the ROR/NTF Retrained Racehorse Championship and the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse qualifier. 80 horse and rider combinations are entered for the BioWaveGO Open Intermediate and the Bredon School Open Novice has 96.

There is plenty of entertainment for all the family, from the high-quality range of tradestands to arena entertainment including the Shetland Pony Grand National and Ye Old Redtail Falconry Display.
